Chanel Gray is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, and groups. She received a BA degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Counseling with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy, both from Governors State University. She has worked in a variety of mental health settings including substance abuse (in-patient treatment), private practice, and senior/veteran housing facilities. Chanel utilizes a client-centered/strength-based approach to increase self-awareness, health, and overall wellness, while overcoming interpersonal conflicts. She has extensive experience with clients dealing with co-occurring disorders, mood disorders, relationship issues, grief/loss, and family of origin issues. She believes early attachment within the family of origin indicates how clients will form and interact in various relationships throughout their life span. Chanel utilizes a variety of theoretical orientations, such as Solution-Focused, Attachment Theory, and Family Systems, and adapts her treatment style for each individual's current needs and therapeutic goals.
