Tom Doctor a Licensed Social Worker, a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and a Sex Therapist.
Tom's clinical experience is focused on working with individuals, couples, adolescents, and families on issues including addiction, alcoholism, substance abuse, relationship/marital conflicts, codependency, divorce, infidelity, PTSD, childhood trauma, emotional abuse, anxiety, social anxiety, depression, life transition, LGBTQ+ issues, sexual health concerns, alternative sexualities and intimacy injuries.
Tom's therapeutic goal for clients is to help them live authentically and intentionally. To achieve this goal, he strives to foster an affirming space to help allow clients to openly explore their thoughts, feelings and relationships. Tom works with clients to utilize their own strengths and resilience to help propel themselves forward towards achieving and surpassing their goals.
Two of the modalities Tom works with when appropriate for his clients' goals are Relational Psychotherapy and/or Sex Therapy. Relational Psychotherapy is talk therapy which focuses on examining and strengthening relationships with oneself and others to help client(s) grow and flourish. Sex Therapy is a form of talk therapy that empowers an individual or couple to work towards achieving a fulfilled love/sex life as defined by the client(s).
