Margaret O'Meara, MA, LPC
Margaret O’Meara is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Governors State University. Margaret has experience working with a variety of presenting concerns including depression, anxiety, life changes, adjustment disorder, mood disorder, self-harm, self-esteem/self-worth, grief and loss, stress management, and relationship issues. Margaret works with pre -teens, adolescents, and adults of all ages providing individual counseling. Modalities of treatment include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy.
I have a passion for connecting with others and helping people to grow and move beyond what holds them back from having a fulfilling and productive life. I am oriented toward a humanistic and existential perspective and incorporate mindfulness, gratitude, and self-compassion into my practices while utilizing a variety of evidence-based treatments. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and view therapy as a collaborative effort between the therapist and the individual.
As a therapist, it is my aim to help you identify obstacles, build on strengths and work toward goals while providing guidance and support. It is my intention to help you gain greater self-awareness and empowerment and develop the strength and courage to make positive changes for continued growth toward peace, acceptance, and a better quality of life while navigating through life’s inevitable challenges.
